hari ini jam enam pagi saya sudah bangun. ada janji jam delapan di gerbang ganesha sama teman-teman dari bina antarbudaya (kerabat kerja AFS di indonesia). jam setengah delapan saya cabut dari kosan, nge-print data dulu, terus ketemu aidil di kubus. secara random dia udah nunggu membawa payung kuning. kami pun berbincang-bincang. lalu nisya si anak SMA 1, kandidat YES, datang. kami berbincang-bincang bertiga, menunggu vivien datang. fikri nggak jadi datang, dia sakit. jam setengah sepuluhan, vivien datang dengan atoz hijaunya. kami pun naik dan berangkat ke daerah telkom gasibu.
ceritanya kami akan survey ke beberapa SD. program YES yang saya, aidil, vivien dan teman-teman sesama YES kami jalani mengharuskan adanya community service setelah kami sampai lagi di indonesia, yang bertujuan untuk mengembalikan apa-apa yang kami dapat selama setahun di amerika kepada masyarakat di sini. kedengarannya berat, yah. cuma nggak segitunya juga, kok. i think we're gonna do it the fun way. hehe.... The nine Walis (repost)
The
nine walis were Sufi teachers who spread Islam and did all variety of
powerful and unusual acts across Java. The histories of these men are
not always clear. In fact, if you try to count all of them, you will
end up with more than nine. Some sources say that there was more than
one group of nine. The most probable explanation is that there was a
loose council of nine religious leaders, and that as older members
retired or passed away, new members were brought into this council.
Symbolically, for later rulers on Java, the wali songo provided a link
between the rulers of Majapahit or earlier kingdoms, and the rulers of
Mataram, and eventually the Sultans of Yogya and Surakarta. They were
both links in the dynastic family trees and cultural links, as they
adapted the old arts and traditions to the new Islamic reality.
